Sottsass collaborated with engineers at IDEO, a design firm based in Palo Alto, to create the Enorme Telephone. Its synthesis of Italian design and Silicon Valley technology won international acclaim, including a cover page photo in the German magazine Form. The Enorme Telephone is now part of the permanent collection at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
